Can castor oil make you hair grow faster?
Castor oil is renowned for speeding up hair growth and making the hair thicker. The evidence is purely anecdotal. The internet is awash with articles and videos from women proclaiming castor oil as a miracle growth aid. There are many claims that it can grow hair one inch or more in just a week!. You will have to experiment and see whether it works for you. You might want to try the inversion method combined with castor oil for maximum effect (see video).
How to apply castor oil
It’s best using it as a hair mask. This is especially helpful when you are trying to regrow your hair, or providing it more shine and moist.
The oil has a thick consistency. Therefore, you may mix it with olive oil, coconut oil water or jojoba oil in a 50-50 ratio. This is going to make the mask easier distributing throughout your hair.
Utilize your fingers or a brush to begin applying it to the scalp and with circular motions. The gentle massage will increase the circulation of blood, stimulate the growth of hair and rejuvenate the hair.
Pair hair into sections, and apply the mixture to each section till all your hair is adequately and evenly covered.
Then wrap your hair in some warm towel (you may also use a shower cap), leaving it for two to eight hours. Also, you may leave it overnight. This is going to provide the oil sufficient time penetrating the follicles, and hydrating your hair and scalp thoroughly.
Wash the hair as usual through the use of conditioner and shampoo. Ensure you rinse all the castor oil from your hair. (tip: before you use any water to rinse your hair, add the shampoo to the dry scalp and massage – this should make it easier to remove the castor oil)
