Baked Pecan Stuffed Apples

Do you have a sweet tooth?  This delicious dessert will satisfy your cravings. Very simple to make and can be on your plate within 30 mins. For the best tasting result do not use tart apples. It’s best to use sweet tasting apples such as Gala or Honeycrisp.  This is a simple, quick dessert that your entire family will enjoy.

Baked Pecan-Stuffed Apples

Yields: 4 servings
Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 sweet apples, such as gala or honey crisp
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 tablespoons dark brown sugar (light brown sugar will also work)
  • 4 tablespoons chopped pecans
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a roasting pan with aluminum foil. Wash and core the apples and place them in the prepared pan.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the butter, sugar, pecans, cinnamon and salt. Use a small spoon to evenly distribute the mixture into each apple.
  3. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the apples are soft but not mushy. Drizzle the apples with the pan drippings.
  4. Serve immediately.
