Prozac Anyone? This Natural Alternative is More Effective With Less Side Effects!
I tried this excellent herb this morning. I was not taking it for depression, but when I think about it, I did feel more chirpy than usual! I took the herb for natural pain relief because I had some stiffness in my ankle, the type of pain when you have exercised a little too much and have pulled a muscle. I had no idea that it was also useful for treating depression. I will certainly be taking it more often!

An estimated 1 in 10 Americans suffer from depression. What if I told you one of them was me, but I don’t treat my depression with harmful anti-depressants I use an herb!
Many studies have begun comparing popular remedies to popular pharmaceuticals, and the results are amazing! You probably know by now that natural foods, herbs, and other natural sources can be extremely helpful methods to treating a whole plethora of health conditions without the horrid side-effects.
New research was done with the department of pharmacology of the Government Medical College in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India studied the effects of turmeric and Prozac. They monitored 60 patients diagnosed with depressive disorders, and both herbs and pharmaceuticals were used.
“We observed that curcumin was well tolerated by all the patients. The proportion of responders as measured by the HAM-D17 scale was higher in the combination group (77.8%) than in the fluoxetine [Prozac] (64.7%) and the curcumin (62.5%) groups; however, these data were not statistically significant (P = 0.58). Interestingly, the mean change in HAM-D17 score at the end of six weeks was comparable in all three groups (P = 0.77).This study provides first clinical evidence that curcumin may be used as an effective and safe modality for treatment in patients with MDD without concurrent suicidal ideation or other psychotic disorders.”
The conclusion being that turmeric is as effective as Prozac! Once you take into consideration the side effects, the winner is clear!
Wake up America, you do not want to be drugged or to be in a zombie-like state. We all have emotions we are supposed to; it is the way we are wired. Everyone gets sad at some point in their life, but clinical depression is no joke. Quit taking the pharmaceuticals, and have some turmeric instead!
Turmeric not only tastes great and helps with depression, but it is an effective remedy for weight loss, heart disease, fatigue, cancer,, etc.. the list will continue to go on and on!
